This afternoon, I, along with all the other groomsmen, met Josh at Men’s Wearhouse to get fitted for the tuxes we’ll be wearing in his wedding.

With so many kids bringing back their prom tuxes today, we basically sat outside Geno’s all afternoon and tossed the bags into the back of a moving truck as they came in. Everything is bar coded so it can be checked in at the warehouse.  We’re really just the middle man, I guess.

Geno brought in a new shipment of watches for us to sale at the store today. All the girls “oh”ed and “ah”ed over them all afternoon.

With 10 proms on the calendar for tomorrow, today was an extremely busy day at Geno’s. Luckily, we brought in a entire smorgasbord (that’s right, smorgasbord) of food to help us get through.

Tonight was the last night CA’s family was in town so we met up with my family for dinner after church.

This friendly cat belongs to our neighbors. But she’s an outdoor cat, so she seems to spend most of her time hanging out on the front stoop waiting for food or to be petted.

THURSDAY, MAY 5TH, 2011

Tonight, Southland invited everyone out to the Lexington Mall location. Once there, everyone was given a page out of the Bible and asked to read it then pray over the future site of our new campus.  I think I heard that, as a church, we ended up reading through the Bible over 3 times.

Shells galore at Krispy Kreme today. This afternoon, I spent a couple of hours sealing boxes of donuts with freshness stickers and organizing them into piles.

I gotta hand it to Clayton. Even though he’s an assistant manager, he’s still willing to do the dirty jobs…like unclogging the urinal.

At a recent Krispy Kreme AGM conference, Clayton discovered that he loves karaoke. So today, after Wing Feast, a bunch of us went to a karaoke bar where we made fools of ourselves.

Today, Cary Anne and I spent part of our afternoon checking out the pond baptisms at Southland.

After the pond, we headed to the Leach’s house for a family Easter dinner. Here, Cary Anne cuts the carrot cake she baked.

Tonight, Cary Anne and I grabbed dinner at Jimmy John’s. When we ordered, the guy told us they were out of fries, yet we noticed this large shelf of potatoes right next to the fryer. I think the guy was confused about where french fries come from.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27TH, 2011

Today, a couple came into Geno’s wanting to change the color of the guy’s prom tux. They thought the pink they chose (represented by the pocket square) didn’t match the pink of the girl’s dress (that scrap on top of the pocket square). They were literally the exact same color, and I had to spend 20 minutes explaining that to them.

THURSDAY, APRIL 28TH, 2011

Tonight Cary Anne and I headed down to Cumberland to see the spring production of Stagefest. We went largely because Shana was directing a one act play that I had written, but it was also a great opportunity just to see some old friends.

Of course, no trip to Williamsburg is complete without a late night snack at Huddle House. Doesn’t Red look thrilled?

FRIDAY, APRIL 29TH, 2011

Everyday, when we close at Geno’s, we have to print off a details report, which logs every transaction from that day. Now that we’re right in the thick of prom season, the report is usually about 4 feet long.

SATURDAY, APRIL 30TH, 2011

Chris and Hannah were in town today for a family birthday party, so they came over this morning to hang out a little. Hannah was having a hard time multi-tasking on “Rock Band,” so as she played the drums, Chris offered to work the foot pedal for her so it would be one less thing she had to focus on…it didn’t help her performance much.

Cary Anne’s family also came to visit this weekend. After Mrs. C had such a great time at Jesus Golf when she visited in the fall, she wanted to share it with the rest of the family.

After dinner, Cary Anne wanted to make sure Marshall got to experience her new favorite frozen yogurt place, Orange Leaf.

Today, Cary Anne and I went to fill out some paper work and pick up our Vespa. Don’t we look excited?

I drove the Vespa to work for the first time today, and Shelby and Jordan immediately ran out to the back parking lot to check it out. Chicks dig Vespas.

Tonight, Pops sang in the Easter Cantata at Rosemont so the whole family went to hear.

After church, Jon wanted to take the Vespa for a spin around the neighborhood. He was having so much fun it turned into more like 3 spins.

Allison moved home to Cincy after graduating from UC, so tonight I got to have dinner with her before Improv class.

Picked up a Vespa Lexington sticker today to add to the front of Cary Anne’s and my new ride. Looks pretty good to me.

This evening there was a severe tornado warning in Lexington. It got so dark and windy we locked the doors for about 30 minutes at Geno’s and took cover in the employee bathroom. Don’t we look comfy?

Today, I was trying to toss M&Ms into Cary Anne’s mouth from across the living room. She didn’t catch most of them, and 30 minutes or so later, when she got off the couch, she realized one of those missed M&Ms had found its way onto her back.

We have a new baker we’re still training at Krsipy Kreme. Tonight, his donuts were coming out so large we couldn’t even fit 12 in a box. The customers weren’t complaining though.

Had to work again during UK’s second game in the NCAA tournament. Luckily, our manager at Krispy Kreme bought a new TV for the break room so we could all watch when there was down time.

Tonight, UK played again, this time to see if they would earn a spot in the Final Four. As you can imagine, 608, a service that usually packs thousands of college kids, was virtually empty.

After UK won, and earned their way into the Final Four for the 1st time since 1998, the team flew back home here to Lexington. Jon and I joined thousands of fans out at the Bluegrass Airport to greet them. There was a lot of excitement.

This afternoon, Cary Anne got all her hair chopped off. This is her new summer do. I asked her if she went in and asked for the female Justin Beiber…which was a mistake.

As a Valentine’s Day present last month, Cary Anne let me buy us tickets to go see an acoustic Dashboard Confessional show tonight in Cincinnati. It was a good time.

For the 4th year in a row, I celebrated Pi Day with some Oreo Creme goodness.

I took these pictures at the beginning (and not at the end) of our bingeing so there’s no photographic evidence that Cary Anne and I ate far more pie  than 2 people should in a single sitting.

UK played it’s first game of the NCAA tournament today. Shelby and I volunteered for sock pricing duty at Geno’s so we could sit at the back desk and “work” as we watched the game.

Tonight, I came home from work to find our apartment complex surrounded by fire trucks. At first, I was worried about Cary Anne, but when I finally made it to the apartment I learned she had no idea about the excitement going on outside. Apparently, someone in an apartment about two buildings away from ours left some paper trash near a heat source. That building was evacuated, but there was no serious damage or injuries.
